i’ll most likely make/reblog another (better) post about this in the coming days, but i need your help for something!!

my friend and hopefully classmate Ashley Nicole Boyd was diagnosed with hearing loss this summer and needs help saving up for the hearing supplies she needs in less than a month when school starts!!

Without my hearing devices, I can’t attend CalArts as I won’t be able to hear professors or films, but I also won’t be able to return to work since my hearing loss makes me miss 40%+ of human speech.

our classmates from CalArts Character Animation’s incoming BFA1 class have offered to help Ashley by donating original art, ranging from thank-you card doodles to full commissions, as reward levels! you dont wanna miss out, we’re all gonna be famous~

we would all appreciate if you took the time to share this link or even donate!! thanks everyone, you’re helping dreams come true— i know firsthand how hard Ashley worked to be accepted into CalArts and it would be a huge loss to the school if she could not attend due to health costs!!

in total, we need at least $7500 for the hearing supplies, site fees, and cost of stamps when mailing out art. more information if you click the link above!!

guess you can say I drew a bunch of…cutiepines

I’ve received a lot of letters from artists asking to check out their artwork and their blog, and I’ve noticed that a lot of them openly write unhealthy amounts of negative comments about their artwork, it was super depressing, honestly.  :(
Confidence plays a very very important role as an artist, it’s what helps us learn and grow without the constant feeling of doubt and jealousy!  You are a unique individual who must go down your own unique path, and as scary as it sounds, you can’t rely on others to hold your hand all the way through.  You are the only one who can get yourself to where you need to go, and beating up your artwork is not the way!  Trust yourself and your abilities to make a change, and you can do anything!!

Love your art, love yourself!
